February: A Month for Planning & Aligning

February: A Month for Planning & Aligning

February carries a quiet kind of magic. It’s the bridge between the deep reflection of January and the first stirrings of movement as we begin shaping the year ahead. The air still holds winter’s hush, yet there’s a subtle energy shift—a whisper of possibility, a gentle invitation to dream, refine, and align.

This isn’t about rigid timelines or pressuring yourself into immediate action. Instead, it’s about allowing clarity to emerge naturally, letting your plans take shape in an expansive but sustainable way.

The Beauty of Planning (Without the Pressure)

I love to plan. I mean, I LOVE to plan. There’s something deeply satisfying about mapping out projects or dreams and breaking them into actionable steps. But I’ve also learned—sometimes the hard way—that planning can become a trap when it’s too rigid, too perfect, too dependent on everything unfolding exactly as we imagined.

A plan that leaves no room for adaptation is just as limiting as having no plan at all. Life isn’t static, and our dreams shouldn’t be either.

So this month, instead of diving headfirst into doing, let’s take a step back. Let’s focus on clarity, intention, and helping that vision we creating in January take its first breath and evolve with us.

A Lesson in Alignment

I never planned to launch my business in January, but an opportunity arose that I allowed to push me into urgency mode. I moved up all my timelines, and I put together these elaborate year-long content and product launch plans, thinking they would keep me on track and give me the structure to move forward.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.

Within the first few weeks of January, I was already off track and feeling behind. My content plans felt overwhelming, my product launches were disorganized, and that creeping feeling of “maybe I’m not cut out for this” started to settle in.

I took that as a sign that I was failing. But in reality? I wasn’t failing. My plans were.

They weren’t built from alignment—but from fear.. Fear that if I didn’t act now, I’d lose potential customers, revenue, or collaborations. And yet? That opportunity I rushed toward didn’t lead to a single sale, a single partnership, or a single thing that benefited my business. If anything, it put me in a place of visibility before I was truly ready—out of sync with myself, my vision, and my community.

The irony? I teach others to trust their own seasons and flow and move in harmony with natural rhythms—yet I ignored that very wisdom when it mattered most.

Although at the time it felt devastating and I came very close to throwing in the towel, it was an incredible lesson and one I’m grateful to have learned so early in my journey as a multi-passionate entrepreneur.

So if your own plans aren’t unfolding the way you expected this year, take a deep breath. We’re only two months in. There’s still so much time.

Let’s recalibrate together.

Being Realistic About Your Goals

So back to planning. Now that you’ve created your vision in January, we’re going to turn that vision into tangible goals.

You can’t work toward everything at once. And honestly, you don’t need to.

Progress in one area often ripples into others. The key is identifying which shifts will create the most meaningful impact across different areas of your life. Instead of asking:

What are the most important goals?

Try asking:

What will be the most impactful goals for my life as a whole?

This shift in perspective makes space for meaningful progress without the overwhelm.

Clarity unfolds when given space and time.

How many goals should you set? As many as feel right. Some may span the entire year, while others will shift with the seasons. Trust that gentle alignment will guide you toward meaningful progress.

I often find it helps me to write all the goals down because once I see that gigantic list, it gives me the reality check I need to remember I can’t possibly do them all, so I need to be thoughtful in which ones I choose.

Don’t worry about breaking the goals down into steps yet. We’ll do that in March. Right now just think about it in terms of “if I have this vision in mind, then I can obtain it this way.” For example, if I envision myself healthier, then I can do that by maybe moving my body more, or cutting back on my alcohol consumption.

Choosing Your Word (or Phrase) of the Year

Rather than fixating on resolutions, anchor your year with a guiding energy—something that serves as a touchstone as you move through the seasons.

Prompts to Discover Your Word of the Year:
💫 What feeling do I want to cultivate this year?
💫 What quality do I want to embody with ease?
💫 If my year had a guiding intention, what would it be?

Write it down. Put it somewhere visible. Let it be a reminder that your journey is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to.

My Phrase of the Year is Effortless Expansion.

Visual Anchors for Your Goals

Here are some popular ways:

Create a Vision Board – Whether digital or physical, let it be an evolving space rather than a fixed destination.

Make a Bingo Card for the Year – Fill it with small joys and meaningful milestones.

Let these be invitations for expansion rather than rigid checklists.

February’s Tarot Energy: The Chariot

The Chariot is a powerful reminder that movement doesn’t always mean speed. It’s a card of direction, discipline, and inner alignment—ensuring that your desires and actions are in sync before rushing forward.

Key Themes of The Chariot:

Intentional Movement – Progress should come from alignment, not urgency.

Balancing Opposing Forces – Like the figure in the card holding the reins of two different creatures, success requires balancing structure and flow, action, and patience.

Self-Trust & Willpower – The Chariot asks: Are you steering your own path, or are you letting external forces pull you in different directions?

In many tarot decks, The Chariot depicts a figure riding forward with no visible reins—symbolizing movement guided not by force, but by inner alignment and trust.

This month, let The Chariot be a guide:
- Where in your life are you pushing forward with misaligned urgency?
- Where could you allow progress to unfold with greater ease?
- How can you trust your own timing rather than feeling rushed by external expectations?

February is a time for setting your direction—not sprinting ahead, but making sure your path feels clear and steady.

Trust the rhythm. Embrace the flow. Let clarity emerge in its own time.
